ABOUT ME

& my perspective

Modern fitness often emphasises on aesthetics or performance, using rigid or medicalised routines - but Movement should create awareness of our body, enabling us to connect to ourselves, to others, and to Nature.

I began as a Personl trainer in 2015, and like most young exercise professionals, specialised in Sports & Performance - where looking attractive and physically strong was the focus. On a random idea one day, it brought me to London, where I could apply that coaching at some of the top fitness environments in the UK - like coaching at Third Space and Technogym, or being scouted by Peloton, and sponsored by Nike. However, keeping up with that lifestyle also led me towards abusing exercise - falling into chronic steroid use, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and a false sense of identity.

Despite being at the ‘top’ of the industry, I had come to learn a harsh lesson: pretending to be somebody I wasn’t, was unsustainable. I didn’t realise it at the time, but I was using my aesthetics and performance to feel a sense of belonging.

It was by chance that I eventually fell in love with a person that offered me the space, support, and patience to overcome the deeply rooted trauma that was impacting the way I engaged with the World - to people and the planet. And so, I began to ‘do the work’ - no longer needing to rely on a false, physical state, to feel secure.

This realignment within my personal life has navigated me towards a purposeful path in my work; alongside my core PT qualification, I continue my professional development through ongoing CPD in holistic movement, foot and gait mechanics, female health, injury-sensitive coaching, somatic approaches to strength and mobility, and Parkinson’s-specific training. My work often begins from the ground up, using the feet as a foundation for improving movement throughout the body. Naturally, this had led me towards working with people living with Parkinson’s, locally or online.

Not only do I offer an increase of energy through physical strength and mobility, I also provide the space to explore introspection - emotional expression of the body. This holistic approach to exercise and movement naturally appeals to those that are looking to create peaceful presence in their day - enabled by a body that is able and trusting.
